The Mauser Chile Model 1935 is a bolt-action rifle that was produced in Chile based on the Mauser design. It was adopted by the Chilean military in 1935 as its standard service rifle. This rifle was chambered in various calibers, including the 7x57mm Mauser cartridge. Chilean Carabineros issue, the Carabineros de Chile were an organization of national police formed in the late 1920’s. These carbines were specifically contracted by Mauser Oberndorf in Germany for the Carabineros.
Similar to other Mauser rifles, the Model 1935 featured a robust bolt-action mechanism known for its reliability and accuracy. It likely incorporated design elements from earlier Mauser rifles, such as the Model 1895, which was also used by Chilean forces.
